There’s a lot that gets the team excited at Inter Urban Studios.

Inter Urban Studios’ diversity reflects the new London; a pluralist approach to design that draws from new and often unexpected sources to formulate design solutions that truly showcase sustainability and the uplifting power of architecture. They have drawn inspiration from a myriad of places: California Case Study houses, Japanese bathing rituals, Ghanaian cloth patterns, and Hindu holy colours, to name a few. Experimentation, infectious enthusiasm, and rigorous investigation of each project demonstrate an ingrained commitment to create space that reflects, and then shapes, our lives.

Seminal projects include the award-winning Double Concrete House, a pioneer in the ‘broken-plan’ concept that eschews lifeless and hanger-like ‘open plan’ living in favour of delineated zones of different character and early adoption of low-carbon concrete. OFSTED, the Mayor of Barnet and Barnet Early Years have all earmarked their Little Lamps Nursery as an example for all early years centres to follow. Incorporating internal climbing walls, sleeping pods, and sliding partitions, the human values and learn through play are reflected in the architecture itself. At the forefront of London’s evolution, Inter Urban Studios makes better places to live, play, work, inspire and collaborate to go beyond the everyday.
